AMD CPU's

bhcool12

tr011 or u serious m8

Serious - no more 1150 CPUs coming. Next is Broadwell-E - X99 stuff

But that's your fault that you misinterpreted what I meant.

It's me and everyone else with a half-decent understanding of the English language.

Tight budgets for builds that you plan to upgrade in a year or 2 is fine. Starting off with AMD isn't that bad. Honestly no one should get anything from the fx series, except the fx 6300

Amd is horrible it produces more heat, doesn't last as long, isn't as efficient as intel the only good thing about it is its cheap but my moto is "You get what you pay for" so if you pay for something cheap you get something cheap.

Read my guide on TDP because you obviously are misinformed.

Each company rates TDP differently and while AMD may *produce* more heat they stay *cooler* on average. The 4790K overheats with the stock heatsink whereas the 8370 does not. Nor does the 1100T

FX 6300 is  tosh.

Athlon X4 860K is better and so is any i3.

Obviously the I3 is better in single cored performance like gaming. The fx 6300 is a great chip to start off with especially with a budget that's tight. I spent 130$ for my fx 6300 and Motherboard. Personally it is a great chip. I know Intel is way better but as long as I am able to play the games I want to either maxed out or almost, at at least 60fps you are good. Now as a future upgrade route that I plan to follow is to go to the I5 4690k

Have you not heard of better heatsinks? You will most likely never ever notice that it's running hotter than Intel. They don't last long? Uninformed

My friend, please stop saying what others have said to you and use your head for once.

When both tested with the same stock cooler - while the AMD chips were hotter than Intel's, they weren't' MASSIVELY hotter and usually come bundled with decent heatsinks, some of which even feature copper heatpipes. Such a thing is rare for intel.

Idle temps mean nothing - they depend solely on ambient temps

To further my point - every company makes up a TDP number based on personal understanding - so my 100 TDP chip might be cooler than your 80W TDP chip. Simple as that.

Not really - CPUs already last for decades - I doubt you still want your Pentium 3?

Lol More heat = less life span. Please don't argue if you have no idea what you're talking about. - Nah im rocking that 6700K ^.^

I not...? What?

A CPU will likely outlast you. Trust me when I say more heat won't kill it sooner than when you upgrade.

The hotter it is the less it last.

K6-2, 400MHz, 65-90C most of its life in a pizza box style case. Got so hot over it's long life that it is permanently fused to it's heatsink.

Still works.

Barton core 2500+ XP. Ran overclocked too long, hit 90C, crashed. Chip wouldn't work after that.

Put it in the freezer for 24 hours, removed and ran cold. Still works.

The New Machine: Intel 11700K / Strix Z590-A WIFI II / Patriot Viper Steel 4400MHz 2x8GB / Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC w/ Bykski WB / x4 1TB SSDs (x2 M.2, x2 2.5) / Corsair 5000D Airflow White / EVGA G6 1000W / Custom Loop CPU & GPU

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

Your stupidity amazes me.

Buy a better heatsink then bam, a cool running CPU.

Im talking about stock not upgrading. No matter if you upgrade it the next person that has an intel and the same heat sink his will still be cooler because its an intel.

That's not a valid reason. You can't say something is better just because it's that brand.

Why? I'm gonna use Corsair for an example. "deh see ecks 430 eez gud cuz is corsair" and the CX430 is actually a fire hazard*. Our old school laptops (mind you these were Sandy Bridge i5s they had) ran hot as fuck even under a regular daily load.

*depending on load and ambient temperatures

becuase Intel is for enthusiasts now, why would a sane person even use a unlocked processor with stock cooling?
