I need some suggestions

I just repared my brother's old laptop (an hp dv6 with i7 1.3 and 4 GB of RAM i think) and he gave it to me as a gift. I haven't got a laptop and i think that im going to use it as a second pc, the problem is that i dont know what a second pc shoud do or should have in terms of software.

I want you to give me some suggestions about what use i can give to it and what software i should/must have instaled to do it.

(Is now upgraded with w10)

Well game on one and use the web browser on the second that's what most people do for 2 monitors.
