So, I've noticed that my system has been under performing a lot lately. I hadn't had a clue for a very long time, but I have finally pin pointed that the problem is.

It is my CPU. I've updated the bios several times, 4 different versions. I have changed my overclock several times, and am currently running at stock speeds.

As you can see, my processor is really lagging behind. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do? Or will I just have to buy another processor?

Does this problem occur at stock speeds? Is it overheating?

There are no temperature problems, and this occurs at stock speeds.

I idle at around 35C, with the maximum hitting around 80C on Aida64 Extreme.

Could it somehow be related to memory?

maybe a virus?

try running cinebench and monitor cpu usage

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

It isn't a memory issue.

And I do not have any viruses, nor have I had any.

Okay.

I am beginning to think it's just CPU degradation from really crappy overclocks.

What do you think?

Yeah, I do.

my 390x on windows 10 gave me a lower passmark score than an hd7950 on windows 8.1

And my 3930k did piss poor as well

I will try Windows 8.1, but I am sure I had this problem with it, a few months ago.

I had a similar problem with my fx8320e. Benchmarking software told me that the cpu was running at full load while windows was telling me that the cpu utilization was stuck at 42% so my scores were terrible. I am not sure whether microsoft was limiting performance on purpose because windows wasn't activated. Make sure that the cpu is running at 100% when you benchmark. Hope this helps. I just recently built a 5820k system and hope that I don't have too many issues.

Well, here it is.

that result is a little lower than in should be but still pretty close; the norm is around 1000, 943 isn't that far off. I'm going to blame cpumark here, it probably produced a bad reading.

Do you have any other ideas?

The cpu seems fine, what kind of performance issues were you having and in what circumstances?

Every game i've played is at very low frame rates.

CS:GO, maxed out (minus v-sync) gets about 50FPS.

Borderlands 2, 35 FPS.

GTA:5 sits at 40 FPS.

what's the gpu and cpu usage while playing those games?

In Borderlands 2, the GPU sits at 45%, while my CPU sits at 80% on core 1.

then there's a problem elsewhere. if the cpu were bottlenecking the gpu it would be pinned at 100% on at least one of the cores. Have you tried reinstalling your gpu drivers?

That sound rather high.  Do you update your CPU driver by any chance?  It's normal on the GPU, but too high on the CPU.  This does sound driver related.  It's either CPU and/or GPU driver.

CPU driver? What do you mean?
