USB storage devices not being detected.

Go to solution Solved by X1XNobleX1X,

Managed to fix the issue, by installing Windows 7 and Windows 10 dual booting them.

Dropped the driver into the Windows 7 partition, installed and it worked.

Glad it wasn't a motherboard issue.

Hello guys,

Managed to fix my other issue and got windows installed. If come across another issue. My USB ports don't recognize any of my USB storage devices. While both mouse and keyboard seem to work fine? Both USB 2 and 3 have the same issue.

Is this an issue with the motherboard? Or just a driver. Can't install LAN driver, as the only DVD drive I have is USB

Which USB Ports? The ones on the back of the motherboard or The ones built into the case?

I doubt It will be a driver

Both, none of them detect the USB drives, they flash, but do nothing.

Can you download the driver?

Nope, no LAN driver installed.

You shouldn't need a driver, most USB storage devices can be detected by the BIOS. Although, if you don't have any drivers it may not work. Do you have a laptop? if so does it have an SD card reader? if so put the USB drivers on there and try to install them that way. Otherwise was it always like this or just happen recently?

mouse and keyboard are USB? (these work because windows has generic drivers for USB mouse and keyboard)

Troubleshooting a pc will make you believe in gremlins.

Hmm.....

I just installed Windows 10, and the USBs work fine.

This is a new computer that I have built, so I'm not sure what the problem is.
