PC will not power

I have a spare computer I found that will not power on, I connected it to a working PSU and I know the ram works because it was in my last build, does anyone know what could be the cause of this?

 

No power is show

none of the fans spin

 

(A part of me thinks its just a dead motherboard, but I would of at least expected for the fans to spin for a second, so I'm not sure.)

Could be any number of things even with just the motherboard. The power connector could be fried, some of the interconnects could be toast, maybe some of the power delivery systems are shot. I don't know, but it seems like it is most likely the motherboard.

You could try and salvage some of the things in the machine like the RAM and CPU. Those are really hard to kill.

Is this like a Pentium 4 computer or is it at least a Core 2 machine?

Oh it was just some acer motherboard my friend gave me that I was going to use in a small form factor gaming build I been thinking about for a while. (I have everything except a motherboard, it would just be nice to have something now even if it is shitty xD )
