So I been having this small issue for about a week. Whenever I start up my computer I get static across my screens. What I mean by static is that the screen starts to lag and distort for a period of a minute or so. Then stops. I do not know why it does this and I take very good care of it. Only use it to game and nothing more. I rarely even browse the Internet with my computer cause it's my baby I have a laptop for that. Anyways I'm not sure a if a video card is dying or my hard drive. But I monitor the resource monitor and I don't see any spiking. Also whenever I change the voltage on my CPU to +10% with afterburner it stops which makes me believe it's my cpu. I'm running an Intel 4771k @3.5 no overclocking or anything. So my question is this. I provided a picture of my cores and threads. The first box says cpu 0 does that mean that one process is dead and it can't read or something?? Any help would be great at all. Sorry for my lack of computer knowledge. I'll provide a thing info needed. Thanks in advance!

I provided a picture of my system at idle. I don't know what I should offer here in order to determine the correct course of help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I guess I could shut down my computer and record for 5 seconds and show you guys if necessary.

What GPU are you using? MSI Afterburner only adjusts settings of your GPU, it does not control any options of your CPU. If you're adjusting voltage in Afterburner, you're actually adjusting the voltage of your GPU. Reset your GPU back to default in Afterburner.

Also, I think your mixing up your i7-4771 with a i7-4770k. If you try to search on Intel's website "i7-4471k", you get zero results back.

If the first CPU box says "CPU 0", that is normal. This is how computers count. For example, a C - Array, the first element would be referred to as position 0. So in the array {1, 2, 3, 6}, position 0 of the array would contain the number 1.

1. core 0 being 100% for a bit is normal this is windows background processing loading or steam or anything else really.

2. static when you first start can be 3 things , dying GPU , bad GPU drivers , cable interference.

3. might be a spelling error but you mention you don't overclock but still add +10% voltage to the cpu?

It seems as if there is a 4771. But it's not a K. http://ark.intel.com/products/77656/Intel-Core-i7-4771-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz?q=4771

It's the same as the 4770k but just no overclocking. And it has some features enabled that are not on the K version.

It's not a race to the bottom.

Yea from his screenshots of Task Manager, the i7-4471 does exist. Just not in a k series as searching the intel website for one will return not.

You are right sir I'm sorry it's an i7-4771 with no K. I'm running 2 gigabyte r290 Radeon 4096mb

My motherboard is Msi z 87-g45. I have attached a Picture of the screen issue. Now, when I go to afterburner I go to "increase power limit" and I select that to 10% and it stops with the screen issues. I only really use the Msi afterburner to monitor my temperatures and nothing more. I have nothing over clocked. Any help would be great.

Seems to be an issue with the GPU, or just because you're running a dual GPU setup. Try running your computer with just one card?

(Also, what game is that?)

The game is called Mabinogi. It's an awesome mmorpg where you can pretty much do anything. Pets different skills without being tied down to a specific "class" the customization is endless. Anyways I think you are right. What is the specific voltage to run dual 290s I mean even at start up, my computer does the flickering. Once it's under an actual load then it stops. Have not seen one flicker. I can play around with the bios settings but it's like a foreign language to me.

There is no such CPU called the i7-4771s.

Forget what CPU it is. We have already acquired that information.

If you're increasing a power limit in afterburner than it's the GPUs.

Run one of them in the system, then change them over and run it again. Both on their own and see what happens.

It's not a race to the bottom.
