Hello everyone,

So about year ago, I built a PC (specs are in my signature). I overclocked the 750K to 5.0 GHz with the Corsair H100i. Every time I needed to get into the BIOS, I could. About a week ago, I was playing some Minecraft and opened CoreTemp to see how hot the CPU was running. Temperatures looked fine, but the clock speed said 1.4 GHz on all four cores. I found this a bit peculiar, so I wanted to dial down the clock speed by a little bit. I restarted my PC, and the splash screen came up. It said "Press DEL to enter BIOS" and "Press F11 to enter boot menu" (or something to that regard). So, intuitively, I started to mash DEL (not backspace). Nothing happened. I just saw the Windows logo appear and the loading ring.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what this could be? I have tried three different keyboards on all the USB 2 and 3 ports on my motherboard, and no luck.

Best,

Ethan

reset CMOS, make sure KB is plugged into a USB2, not USB3

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Ok. How do you reset the CMOS again?

Either there is a "Clear CMOS" button or jumper on the board. Or you can first disconnect the PSU, wait a few minutes for the charge on the motherboard to empty. Then you remove the on-board battery. Wait a few seconds, and put it back in. That should reset the BIOS to default settings.
