Overclocking, How to get noticed?

Eventually I would like to start professionally overclocking so I thought now would be the time to get some info.

So the question is fairly straight forward here, How do you get noticed in the Overclocking world? Is it breaking current records or is it, breaking AMDs/Intels/Nvidias highest overclocks?

TL;DR

How to get noticed? Is it only by breaking records or is there another way?

acquire liquid helium, crank shit up.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

You need to take part to conventions, meetings etc. Work with other professional ocers as a helper/apprentice to gain experience. Youtube can be a good platform on which to be noticed, although a lot of it comes down to luck and you shouldn't rely on that 100%; make tutorials, show off your results.

have you ever heard Linus say GHz?

He says it JiggaHertz

Not always. In fact, I've seldom ever heard him say it with a soft G.
