R9 390 vs 390x for 1080p 144hz / 1440p

 

IS the £70 / $108 extra for the 390x worth it?

probably not worth it because of the little performance gain but big gap between costs

Specs: i7-4790k with Thermaltake Water 3.0, EVGA GTX 970, MSI Z97 Gaming 3, Kingston HyperX 2x8 DDR3 1600Mhz, SSD Boot Drive/1TB HD, CM Storm Stryker, EVGA Supernova G2 750W

Peripherals: SS Rival, HyperX Cloud, G710+

The 390 is better value for money, but of course there are situations where you "have to" shell out for that little bit of extra performance.

I'd probably spend the extra £70, while it is more you can easily find bigger price gaps for smaller performance gains (Titan X and 980 Ti for example).
