I am not very familiar with iMacs, but I'm buying.one due to my program plan in college, Graphic Design. I will be using Adobe illustrator, Photoshop in Design, u get the picture. Here is the iMac I'll be buying.

Apple iMac with Retina 5K display - 27" LED - Core i5 3.3 GHz - 8 GB RAM - 1 TB HDD - OS X 10.10 Yosemite

So here lays my question. Is it possible to have an eyefinity set up with 3 of those???

Im very clueless with pc hardware. Can someone help?

Thanks

Why can't you use a Windows system?

OSX cuts you off from drivers and driver control, mostly. You can hook up more monitors using Thunderbolt and configure which is on the left, right, etc.

if you want multiple monitors and still want an apple product go with a mac pro that being said i would advise you to use osx over windows if your not good with software that's one of the reasons why i like osx a little more than windows. and if you dont want to shell out the money for a mac pro but still want osx http://www.hackintosh.com/

I see all these pro Microsoft Windows here, and then I am here on a Mac. I do believe that you can have an eyefinity setup. On the back I think there are 2 thunderbolt ports. If you get an adapter you can setup any display, or just get a thunderbolt display.

And if you have never used Mac OS X, it is amazing, no joke.

Maybach using 2 Apple iMac with Retina 5K display - 27" . How would u connect them

You have to connect the monitors to the single iMac, you don't need two computers.

You would get a thunderbolt to Displayport/DVI/VGA/HDMI. (Depending on your monitor)

to my knowledge you can you would have to connect the 2k monitors unless you buy a 5k monitor from somewhere else but there not cheap http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&sku=UP275K3 you would have to connect them with mini display ports

1. 5k imac computer

2. 27" imac monitor

So they both have thunderbolt, i would need which cables

does not matter just plug one cable into one monitor and the same cable into the other monitor

I just want to have Photoshop running on 1 display & illustrator on the other.

Please do not get the iMac 5K though, it throttles like crazy. But you are getting mid range laptop specs in the process. And spending a ton on a display that it can't handle.
