As you can see from the title, this is going to be my first PC that I've ever built! I have taken apart my neighbor's old computer, but that's about where my experience ends. So here we go.

I have a budget of around $600-$650 and I want to be able to game with medium-high settings at 1080p. If it matters, I live in USA FL 34601.

Case- Corsair 200R $69.99

CPU- AMD FX-6300 6 Core 3.5 GHz $96.46

CPU Cooler- Cooler Master Vortex Plus $25.99

Motherboard- BIOSTAR TA970 $59.99

Memory- G.SKILL Ares Series 8gb (4x2) $49.99

Graphics Card- EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4gb $239.99

SSD(I already have a 1tb hard drive that I bought ahead of time for some reason)- Kingston Digital 120GB SSD $50.44

Power Supply- Corsair CX750M 750W $79.99

Case Fans- BitFenix Spectre $11.99

*To clarify, I want all things above to be around $600-$650 and everything below to be around $200 or so.

Mouse- Gamdias Hades $29.99

Keyboard- Gamdias Ares $34.99

Wifi Adapter (I can only have wifi with my living situation)- Rosewill Wireless N150 $11.99

Monitor-SCEPTRE E225W 1920x1080 $119.99

***All of your support and ideas help, however there are some things that I don't want to have. I don't want to use Intel mostly because of the price, I can't flex on that budget, I'm going to be building it in about a month, I know that prices are subject to change, and I'm going for black with an orange accent on the whole machine. Thanks to all.***

Get a G3258 now, and pick up an i5 or i7 later.  I have the i3-4160 and it handles everything I throw at it gaming wise at about 50-70% load, and the i3 is basically a hyperthreaded pentium.

Since you have a 1TB HDD, I'd also hold off on the SSD and get a better motherboard.  Especially if you will be overclocking.

I really went for your black theme here.  No need for aftermarket cooling, G3258s are capable of really good overclocks on stock coolers.

To show you just how behind AMD's processors are, here is 2 performancetest benchmarks which is a data pool of user submitted benchmarks.  Even the lowly G3258 keeps up with the FX-6300.  And absolutely shreds it in single core performance, which is very important for older titles.

AMD processors look like the better value on paper, but intel is the way to go man.

@JAS0N83R1337 I like either of the i5 systems above, but I'd use the stock CPU coolers and move that money to buying a larger SSD.  120GBs (111GiB) is not much even for the OS, miscellaneous programs and utilities, pagefile, etc.   You don't want to completely fill it up either. 10-20GB of free space is usually what is recommended.
