USB Flash Drive not compatible!?

Go to solution Solved by techguru,

using rufus.. where would i save the ISO. file? in downloads and then use rufus for what??

yea..just save it anywhere..then open rufus..load the iso file..choose your usb drive..and push go

Okay so I just finished chatting with Windows 10 support team and said that my USB Flash drive was not being recognized by the Media creation tool (used to download windows 10) so i could put the OS onto my other PC. i  explained that the flash drive is working and that my USB ports on my PC are working properly.  They came to a conclusion that my flash drive is not compatible.. Wtf?

so my question is.. Is my Sandisk Cruzer Glide 32GB USB 2.0 not compatible and cannot be used as a bootable  device to install windows 10 onto my other PC?

I bought it recently off amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-SDCZ60-032G-B35-Cruzer-Glide-Flash/dp/B007YX9O9E/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1442524754&sr=8-13&keywords=SANDISK+32GB+usb

I'm I doing something wrong? PLEASE Help!  :(

Thanks in advance  :)

I've done a virus check and Error check.. All fine. BTW the File Systems in FAT32

Well what is going wrong?  You need to start at the beginning.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Download the .iso

Insert your flash drive, open command prompt and type the bold bits :

diskpart -> Wait a few seconds for Diskpart to start

list disk -> you'll see a list of all the drives.  Find the flash drive and note the disk number

select disk # -> where "#" is the disk number from the last step.  Don't get this number wrong, otherwise the next step may delete an entire HDD

clean

create part primary

active

format fs=fat32 quick

When that's done, exit diskpart and the command prompt.

Now mount the .iso file using Daemon tools or similar and explore the disk.

Copy all the contents to the flash drive.

Done

Your flash drive needs to be NTFS before you try to make it into a bootable flash drive for Windows 10. You can do this by simply right-clicking it and choosing "NTFS" as the file system.

You shouldn't need to use any other programs to do this, or use any command prompts.

Just format it as NTFS and use Microsoft's flash drive tool.
