A 2600k will most probably not bottleneck a GTX 590.

As for the 620m, I do not know, but recommendations elsewhere state a minimum of 700W to run the GTX 590 (though I cannot attest to the correctness of this).

Yeah but on gumtree there is non K CPU. Soo if needed the overclock is limited. But ive got 7950 with 2600k on stock clock and GPU on medium OC and no problem occur. You should be fine as long as you have in mind that you have non K model.

Oh missed that it was the non-k version, but yeah, the 2600 should still be sufficient. I run my 2600k at almost stock speeds as well, and it is nowhere near running at full speed while gaming (together with a GTX 680).

Cheers,

Linus

The PSU is fine for the config. Most people care everytime when a new CPU hits the market that it will be super fast comparing to older ones like it was with Haswell vs Sandy and Ivy. CPU's are more future proof than GPU's are. For the money and of course the mind that this is NOT a K version and OC is very limited its a good way to go.

so if i tryed to oc i will only get to 3.8ghz ?

Standard boost goes to 3.8 without oc.   You might get it to 4.0 with reference clock oc .. but that's tricky.  I could only get from 100 to 105Mhz.

doesnt matter anyways i wouldnt need to overclock i have been told that any gpu these days wouldnt bottleneck that cpu

Well this is jus my opinion on that.  If I remember right, the GTX 590 has like 1.5GB of Vram per core.  If you're playing at 1080p, you def might be pushing it on games like Crysis 3, even with stuffs like AA turned down.  I mean like, my HD 7850 nearly hits 2GB of Vram used, but then again I only have like 256bit interface, so you would def use lower.  So you'd totally be fine for now, but after seeing the stuff on the HD 9970, omg it's super sexy :)

so u think it will last me 2 or more years

Probably. I'm not a time traveler though.

I would get the 2600K as that is the version that allows you to overclock it easier as the K version has an unlocked multiplier.
