So here goes my first post:

I'm currently building a new video editing rig, since my previous one (even though it's still holding pretty decently) it's five years old.

I've been contemplating building a more portable one, meaning a mATX rig, since I do move between two cities quite oftenly around here, and it qould be nice, if the situation demands for it to be able to bring it along.

I live way down in South America, so availability in components may not be the same. Now, to make thing easier I'll use the prices listed on newegg as a reference to set a budget. I expect differences not to be TOO dramatic, since the exchange rate does remain constant.

So far I'm thinkin on somehting like this:

Case: Cougar QBX  //55USD

MB: MSI Z97M-G43 1150 //105USD

CPU: i7 4790k 4.0 GHz //340 USD

GPU: GeForce GTX 970 //350 USD

RAM: Corsair XMS3 8GB 1333 (x2) (harvested from my previous rig) //0 USD

Storage:

SSD: Kingston 240GB HyperX FURY SSD SATA 3 2.5 (x1) //107 USD

Mechanical drive: SATA Toshiba 3TB 6Gbs 7200RPM //Out of stock on newegg

Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H75 //75 USD

Since I'm harvesting two sticks of RAM from my previous build I'm looking at a budget that rounds up to about 1,200 USD. If need be I'm all for expanding it.

What worries me is that the size of the case might either make it a really tight build or perhaps even an impossible one. I'll cherish any input from anybody with experience on this small cases. Should this one be too much of a problem, I also have the option of getting a Cooler Master Elite 130. Feel free to tear this build up and already thank you or any help.

Thanks in advance.

You could go ATX if you wanna get a rather unique case like the HAF XB EVO

Non US, well I got nothing really then, just that you may want a 390 over a 970 for the GPU

And a 3TB hard drive is going to die rather quickly, if you're going to be moving around a lot you may want to get a WD Black Series hard drive, they have a pretty solid warranty.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
