Primary PC vs Old Laptop for Streaming

Go to solution Solved by manikyath,

the i5 should be plenty to squeeze out a 720p30 without any issues.

i've seen the worst performing FX8350 in my group of friends do that just fine. (i'm still convinced that guy fucked up his cooler, it CANT be that slow, it just CANT...)

I am getting into PC gaming twitch streaming and was wondering what the best way to do it was.

My main PC has a i5 4590 inside, and my secondary laptop has a i5 3210m inside. Would it be better to stream (using OBS, or nvidia shadowplay) on my main PC but the game and Skype will be open as well so it may inpact game and stream performance. Or use a capture card and my laptop to stream, even though the CPU isn't as good I can dedicate 100% of the computer to the stream.
