Wireless or Powerline

I'm building a gaming pc and it going to be in my bedroom (2nd story). my home pc is on the first floor with the router. I can't run a cord down my step so I have to use either wireless or Powerline. Which one is the better option in terms of my budget and performance? I don't want to spend to much more that 50$. What are some trustworthy/good models?

I have a pair of TP-Link 500Mbps powerline adapters that I think I got on sale at Newegg for like $40, way better than any wireless I have used.

I'd go for power line they are faster and relatively cheap, here's a video on them:

Powerline, unless your house has an old electrical circuit, then its wise to go for wireless.

depends, on two factors you cant test:

1: how well a powerline will work in your house.

2: how well wifi will work in your house.

 

EDIT: should clarify:

 

1: depends on the wiring and how noisy the power is.

2: depends on the amount of interference on 2.4GHz and 5GHz, on how thick your walls are, and how well you can point your antennas.
