my budget its 1000$cad, for gaming, my old pc is getting old and was bought prebuilt with some less that optimal parts, i want to know if all of this will be ok
first i chose the 212 evo instead of a water cooler since it better fits my budget and only plan on lightly overclocking.

every part that is said to be already bought may or may not reflect the exact part that i already own, but it gives a good idea (the monitor is this exact one however)

now i was planning on buying the gtx 970 now and wait untill my birthday/chrismas to add the rest to my list. im not sure its the best decision, but i would be able to get a decent graphic card untill then.

Please get yo' self an XFX PSU.. such as the TS series.

Also if you don't mind the slight increase in temps look to the R9 390 instead.. a bit better price per performance.

Finally, I question the choice of 16 GB RAM... do you really need it?

power supply didnt matter much because i dont pay electric bills (electricity included in price) unless it heats up much.

ive been reading everywhere on ltt and elsewere and there dosent seem to be concensus on which is better, every time someone posted the 390, someone replied to take the other and so on.

for the ram, i had no specific reason, if i find this to be an issue somehow, i can always buy download more ram

so it would be this: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/WzhgMp

but what about buying the video card now, is it a good idea, or should i wait for a better deal between now and chrismas

I don't think you understand what I meant in change the power supply. I wouldn't trust that thing to hold my breath. @STRMfrmXMN can explain quite a bit better.

That is the most sketchy power supply ever. Antec's High Current Gamer 520W is an inexpensive PSU that won't catch your house on fire like that Coolmax will...

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Did he change the build?  That one appears to be a tier one unit (XFX Pro 550W bronze).

1. Well the 390 will provide you with more frames per second per dollar.  On the other hand the 970 will run a bit cooler and quieter.  Simple as that.

2. You can always wait for a better deal and while you're at it you might as well wait for Pascal to come out ;)

jk ~ get some other people's opinions but personally I would not wait

I really hope that the 'download more ram' thing is a joke

Considering no one says it seriously, it obviously is.

@Tommy59375 Look at the original post. It's a CoolMax 500w

He updated it, looks like and yes I agree, only buy very high quality PSUs.  It will cost a bit more but it's like insurance.  You don't ever want to pay for it but when you need it, you're sure glad you did!
