Oh then it should be easy for you then, go onto himachi and download it and learn how to set up a regular server and once you have that down you can learn how to set up the modded server on your pc, its not that hard.  You can set the server on your pc to have 6-8gbs of ram and that should be enough to run a modded server but just make sure that you dont use all the rest of the ram on your pc at the same time but it should all be simple

Well I've never had a ram usage problem except for that one time Project Spartan decided it needed 6GB of ram for displaying the new tab screen...

Go through himachi and run a pc in your pc, just make sure you have 8+ for ram since you need at least 6gb imo for a good modded server and for 2 people that will be perfect.

I am currently on a virtual server with 6gbs of ram and it runs well with 12 people on it at a time with FTB infinity

the hell are you doing to that poor server... i rarely ever go over 4GB usage in worst cases...

I like the smell of barbecue...

Actually how terrible would a computer from like 2002 be? We still happen to have our old Dell 8250. I think that's the model. Its very old and sad and uses IDE drives

might as well just try and see how well it fares.

I have a friend who abuses his poor chromebook. He has an Acer C720-2400 or something. It has 2GB of RAM and he decides that we wants to have ALL the tabs open. Like only see 3/4 of the pages icon. I want to see that usage stat but its a chromebook so I'll never know

I can develop minecraft servers, done it for a long time and, i was able to host, play and watch videos on the one pc, you dont need a lot of power to run these, just grab a old laptop, with around 2-4GB of ram and use it as a server you dont need any special OS to run it, windows will do

Um yea the pace we move in modded minecraft is insane its like we can finish almost every mod in a modpack in about 2 weeks.... we just restarted one 3 days ago and the amount of stuff done is insane.....

lol I did that to my baby brothers chromebook when I had no access to a pc at home, that ssd in there actually helps a lot when you have too many chrome tabs and 3 gigs of ram

I think he has a 128 since he insists that the age of the full-sized laptop is over and that his chromebook armed with Ubuntu can so anything a real laptop can. I asked if I can play Call of Duty 4 and my friend asked if it runs his fancy audio editing programs.
