help with getting 75 hz

I have an AMD gpu and I want to get 75 hz on my monitor but I want it with black bars, streched is too awkward for me and I'd have to relearn my muscle memory, Is there a way to get black bars and 75 hz on my monitor?

edit: for those who don't see my new comment

ok... blown up post, My native resolution is 1920x1080 on a ASUS VN27 with 60 hz, I want to play with 75 hz on my monitor, which it supports. I hate stretched mode thought so I want to play with black bars on the side like this > http://i.ytimg.com/v...xresdefault.jpg but I want this for desktop like when I am browsing the web I am using a R9 270X gpu

What do you mean?  does your monitor even support 75 htz?

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Well overclocking is possible, but I'm more confused about the black bars? Make a screensaver with black on the top and bottom?

You should first find some random setting on your monitor that sometimes does work, and sometimes doesn't. This setting should allow you to have a resolution below the official resolution of your monitor, without it stretching. Then just use your settings in the control panel (or whatever) to choose the resolution you want, combined with 75Hz. :)

If I'm understanding this correctly, you came from an older 5:4 (such as 1280x1024) or similar screen and is not used to the wider 16:9 display that you have now? As with any overclocking, your mileage may vary. That being said, you can refer to the guide here

@Phoe9x Welcome to the forums, make sure to follow your own posts.

Refresh rate has nothing to do with black bars of any kind.  Why not simply use your native resolution anyway?  There won't be any muscle memory to relearn for games, and outside of games it's not that big of a deal... even if that were the case you could simply scale your DPI up on your mouse and you'd be set.

I was gone all day sorry bout that, and I want black bars on the left and right side and have 75 hz because I can only get 75 hz on 4:3 while my native resolution is 16:9

You're fine, that's the glory of forums, people come and go when they can (albeit in a timely manner, like how you have done).  Have you tried overclocking the monitor to get 75 Hz on 16:9?

I haven't looked into overclocking that much, but I think I might have solved my issue just trying to get 75 hz on csgo, I need to know if I am actually running 75 hz or not but oherwise this thread is pretty much closed

Here's how you can check:

-Right click on your Desktop, click on "Screen Resolution"

-Right click on your display, select "Properties"

-In the small window that pops up, click on the "Monitor" tab, and check the refresh rate that shows up for you.

I am using 75 hz in csgo via -freq 75 and -refresh 75 in the launch options and only 60hz shows up on the way you told me. the AMD control catalyst says I can run up to 75hz

Well, go in CCC and set it to 75 Hz.
