Quite a peculiar problem.

So my router disconnects my PC's ethernet connection. Not entirely however, I can still access the web but it's significantly slower and steam, battle.net, and a host of other games and game services will stop working. The ethernet cord is not the problem because I've changed that a couple times before. Can someone help me please?

plug the pc directly into the modem and see if it runs normally

if it does

you need a new router..or atleast new firmware

if it doesn't fix it..then you got another problem

Alright, thanks man ill check it out. Gonna be kinda hard since the modem is all the way down stair but ill manage.

Have you tried resetting your router or modem either with power or software? Also check any security firewalls you have running to see if they are blocking certain traffic.

did you by any chance make the switch to windows 10 recently?

 

I happened to get randomly disconnected from my games / mumble like 5-6 times a day. switched back to windows 7 and doesn't happen anymore.
