Making a lets play video

Hey guys, I've never made a video before but I am planning on making my first tonight to try it out, probly gta online

So in term of software I was going to use

Fraps for game play, windows live movie maker for webcam and mic capture

Then do the face cam overlay in video pad,

Export all then edit it as one in movie maker.

My question is will this work ?

I have looked up all the software and am using video pad as u can't over lay face cam in windows movie maker to my understanding

Any thoughts and input would be great

I want to do this free so please only suggestions for free software

Or you can use ShadowPlay and capture them all and not impact your performance :)

since you have a nvidia card, shadowplay will do everything for you at once. without affecting your performance like fraps.

Or use OBS to record your gameplay and webcam and it makes it into a video on its own without exporting all that stuff

After its captured do I still use movie maker to edit ?

If movie maker is all you got but with shadow play you can add a webcam in one of the 4 corners and and record game and mic audio and it comes all into a mp4 file.

Yes the only team that the movie maker will do is get the file size smaller if you don't add anything like an intro or some text...

Oh i thought you meant if you can edit videos that were recorded in Shadowplay :P No, i dont think you can edit them in Shadowplay :P Sorry :P

Use shadowplay as OBS is a lot harder on your system and it can also record webcam and integrate it in. Also file sizes even at 4K and max bitrate are much smaller then fraps.

i dont think you can overlay videos in Movie maker,

use shadowplay, you can use webcam and voice at no fps drop

shadowplay adds the webcam image to the video, jsut test it

shadowplay combines it already, use moviemaker only to combine other video or add text,music etc.

But if I want to cut bits out of the video i can't do that with shadow play
