store data on ssd with raid 0?

Go to solution Solved by Volbet,

RAID 0 is the fastes because it take two or more drives and make them into "one drive". Theoretically this should give double the speed or more. The problem occures if one of the drive fail, you will have lost all the data in the array. If you plan on doing RAID 0 I recommend only storing your OS and programs on it. It would be a real shame if you lost you family pictures or other treasured files.

As the topic says- should i store my data that i frequently use on an ssd with raid 0 apart from os?

isn't the raid 0 fastest of all? but i've heard that its not safe! so what should i do? raid 0(fast) or other(safe)?    if its others then should i backup my data?( i will keep some data on my ssd if i get enough space :p )

Ssds in raid 0 will only make sequential reads/writes faster but what makes an ssd feel fast and snappy is the random read speed and memory controller. Because of this, ssds in raid 0 might end up even slower than a single one and the array is more likely to fail than separate drives.

I recommend not putting ssds in raid 0 and just storing your files on them normally as separate drives.
