Hey guys. I was just wondering if I can get some good constructive critism on this build and tell me what I would need to improve.

Currently this build is going to cost $1729.76 without the promos and rebates. What I have spent so far is ~$140 for the processor on intel retail edge, ~$50 on the WD 1TB HDD on a promotional discount, ~$70 on the Samsung Evo 850 SSD on a promotional discount, and ~$70 on the h100i water cooler on a promotional discount. Total spent so far ~$330 for a savings of ~$390.

I plan on buying the rest of the parts this months and was wanting some input on the rest of the build.

This is the link to the build parts http://pcpartpicker.com/p/cqW2cf

This desktop is going to be meant for my engineering projects with AutoCAD, light gaming (mostly just LoL), and just everyday use for school.

Let me know what I can approve on or disregard in general for this build.

Thanks.

change the psu to an evga g2 and change the gpu to a 950 since it performs almost hte same as the 960 for $40 less or get the 280x for the same price since it performs significantly better for the same price

I switched the 4GB to the 2GB 950. Now when it relates to preformence, how much does it really differ when you cut your DDR5 memory from 4 to 2? I'm assuming it'll just default to the board memory when anything need to pull anything heavier than 2GB.

I just changed the EVGA PSU to the 750w g2 series. In your opinion do you think the 550 would be just fine? Or for longevity sakes just get the 750?

Appreciate the reply.

The only reason I didn't default to get a beefed up GPU is because I'm 90% sure I won't be pushing it for what it's made for. That's why I kept it at a 960.

Btw, I already purchased the 5930k for $140 brand new.

If you like the looks of the Phantom series, I recommend NZXT Noctis 450. It's an updated version with lot more useful features than the 410.

Phanteks Enthoo Pro and Pro M are great choices too. More of a clean look though.

You might want to reconsider you PSU. Follow this tier list http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

Now that 450 is sweet lol. Might have to pick up that 450 instead of the 410.

I also changed the PSU already to a G2 series EVAG SuperNova 80+ Gold 750w modular.

Thanks man.
