Filters!

Go to solution Solved by LogicalDrm,

Some stores that sell mod parts have fan filter material as rolls. That could be your option. Cut it into right size and attach with paper clips or two sided tape.

I have Dell XPs 630i and one problem with it is that it doesn't have any proper dust filters in the front intake. What it does have, is a grill that only catches a fraction of the gunk going in. Standard fan filters (120-140mm) will not work because the gill is 185mm across and 80mm between each pocket. I was wondering if you guys could help me find a fan filter that I could place over the grill. I am expecting to cut them to make it fit and if anyone knows where I can just buy plain fanfiter mesh that I could cut myself that would also be great. I would also prefer a metal or plastic mesh over a foam filter.

I dont know about fan filters specifically for that but if you need a quick fix panty hose works well.

Maybe try magnetic fan filters. As you said it won't fit, but it will do the trick.

Also a simple Panty hose will work.

Pantyhoses are great filters, you'll look weird buying them at the store but they are great. They do not choke on airflow much and they catch a lot of dust. If you do not want to go that route then get the Silverstone one (second picture that looks like a star fish). I have one of those and it works great, plus it's magnetic.

On a side note you may wanna pick up some fans with better static pressure because most fans with low static pressure have a hard time moving air through filters.

Thanks for the suggestion, I ordered the 3mm thick filter and because I'm a cheapskate on shipping it'll be here in 2 weeks :l.
