Amazing battery life?

Everyone I know who has an iPhone complains about the battery life first, so I'm with @M4RWiN here.. Amazing battery life?

My own input though, I don't really like their styling nor do I like their OS.  It isn't a hate thing it's just a personal preference.  They're good phones otherwise they wouldn't be as popular as they are, but I'll stay with android.

Well the battery life isn't great but its not bad either. But they work for a long time and stay supported during many years. I'm still using a iPhone 4s without any major problems wich would't have been possible with a android since the tend to only work for 2 years. Either the hardware dies or it gets unsupported. Thats what I like with the iPhone that it works for almost everything and continues to do so. Plannin on getting a iPhone 6s or a Sony Z4 though since my battery is starting to get worse after all years.

Apple  = Too much Hype

Itunes = Sux

Products = Way overpriced, alternatives are better and cheaper.

I agree that iTunes sucks. That is really like the worse program ever made.

They're expensive and all but the software is so well optimized and there is no lag or anything and the battery life is pretty amazing. Talking about the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

It's not Apple we hate, its the ignorant assholes on the other side of their products. I have nothing against Apple, I'd just rather use Android.

Here is my perspective from an android user.

iPhones have weak specs, this isnt a major issue because the software is well optimized and there is no lag, but guess what, android also has no lag (if you get a descent phone).

iOS is ugly. This is the opinion of many people, including me. iOS is not good looking.

Barely and customization. iOS is famous for having barely any customization, you can change the wallpaper and move the icons around (IMPRESSIVE!). Android, on the other hand, has tons of customization options.

The fanboys. This isnt a direct reason why people hate iPhones, but a lot of people who have iPhones claim they know shit, when they dont. Its annoying.

Now, let me rant about something.

When people discuss iPhone vs Android, the iPhone side will always say that they last longer.

Well, I have the Xperia Z. The phone came out on the 9th of February, 2013.

It is still HEAVILY supported by Sony, I get the newest updates and the newest apps, and guess what, it runs good as new!

So, if you get an android phone with good specs, like the xperia Z, they will last for some time.

I hope this explained some of the reasons, there are more, but these are the most basic ones :)

The people who "hate" on iPhones are probably much more tech savy.

Sure you will have some sheep haters just as you have brainwashed apple fans, but tech savy people look at the specs and what they do VS what apple tells them.

ALSO, tech savy people don't care if the iPhone makes them look "cool" (believe me, some people think any phone other than the iPhone is poverty).

It all comes down to preference.  I personally will be switching from the iPhone once my contract is up to get a phone with better batter and more storage.

Ever heard of custom roms? :D Devices like the Xperia Arc are still being supported :)

Well yeah that works sometimes but not always. And could result in some trubles so really iPhones is simpler and doesn't need the amount of time spent on getting them working good. So if you dont have that much time or just want it to work then iPhone is the best choice really.

The same reason people hate consoles;

- Shit hardware

- Way overpriced compared to competition

- Locked ecosystem

I think it just kills people to admit that iPhones and iPads have hardware that are just much faster and advanced than their Android counterparts. There is still no SOC from Qualcomm, Samsung, or nVidia that comes close to the IPC of the A7 in the iPhone 5s. It's been 2 years, and there still is NOTHING. Apple didn't even need to refresh the iPad Air lineup either due to yields with the possible 14nm A9 and A9x or that there's simply no competition vs the A8x. Only nVidia's X1 is able to compete but that's not even available in a tablet. IMO, it's the software that holds back the capability of iOS devices, yet it's the same software that demonstrate the incredible things they are able to do. iOS 9 is a long needed update to bring back iOS to the days where it was actually a lightweight os (it's still missing the ability to animation cancel and interact with UI animations while the animation is still running).

iPhone = Geek phone, pretty GUI, easy to use, simplifies your life, strokes your ego

Android = Nerd phone, easy to root, warez, gamez, makes everyone think they're a "hacker"

Windows = Paul Thurrott owns one, that's like half the total users right there, lacks apps

Blackberry = Used only by people that have to type a lot

Feature phone = Po' people phone. My brother in Indiana has one, because he's po'.

Nvidia Shield Tablet?

The shield tablet thermal throttles (not surprising though). The peak performance that it's not able to sustain almost matches the iPad, but because it thermal throttles, it's sustained performance is a bit lower.

Anandtech has also openly said that the A8x is the fastest chip (although if the X1 was available in the tablet, it would be faster baring the much higher tdp)

Given that A8X was already the fastest ARM SoC in a mobile device this is quite an accomplishment

I'm pretty sure we're at a point where it's cool to have an Android phone and iPhone users are just viewed as plebs. The social stigma in my area is "yea, I got an iphone" in a negative tone and when people see a OPO or S6 or the likes, they say "OMG, is that the _____?"

Still, can someone give me a reason why people buy tablets?
