Is it ok to leave my laptop on its side and use it.

so i'm restricted as fuck on space and i was wondering if i could put my laptop on its side and use it as a compyter with an external monitor keyboard etc etc, It's an Alienware 17.

 

Why wouldn't it be okay? The moving parts won't know any different, there is no fluid inside it etc so use it as desired.

 

Just... Don't insert it anywhere... okay?

Nah, the HDMI Cable that i'm going to use had the port on the other side and the fans are facing into a Very open area.

Highly doubt it, even if so he can flip it. Never had an issue with fans while using mine on its side in bed watching youtube etc.

Make sure there are no vents being blocked up

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?
