Pc acting weird/underperforming

Hello, i am here to ask for help once again. This is probably the last shot, i'm giving at this since i have wrote 9 threads all across the internet. I received some feedback, but I haven't met the fix yet. 

 

Enough with the introduction let's get to the deal. I have bought myself a computer from scratch. I bought every piece by myself, i put it all together myself. When i got my computer all put up and ready, i installed myself Windows 8.1. Everything is fast, looks fine, no problems. Until I try to play games. 

 

In CS:GO 1280x1024 resolution, everything on medium. I get 150-200 FPS max. Which is not enough in my eyes.

 

In H1Z1 ultra or high or even medium. I have same FPS on all the different graphic modes. 

The FPS goes from 45-70 and that's the most it's going. When i get into a firefight it drops below 40 which makes it impossible to play, since i die in every firefight almost. 

 

In GTA V ultra, i have 70-80 FPS, but when i crash my car or make some explosions it drops below 40 aswell.

 

 

So in conclusion i have a good gaming PC which is brand new, but its not giving me the full potential it should be. I should be running these games with ease. I don't know i'm getting kinda desperate and running out of hope.

 

I got messages telling me to reinstall Windows, and I did. I bought myself an SSD, and i reinstalled my whole windows, and activated it. I still have the same problem, so i know its hardware one. I would like to know which part of my computer is causing the lag problems. 

 

I am willing to pay a skin in csgo, thats worth around 60 in steam market, i can also cash it out for paypal cash in opskin, and then make you a paypal transaction, but there will be a fee, and u wont get the full 60 euros that its worth. This is just for motivational purpouses. 

 

Feel free to ask me anything, ill try to awnser fast, such as stress tests, and temepratures and so on.

PS: Power options set to high, and processor power options 100%. 

 

Maybe something is broken/underclocked i don't know much about computers.

Temperatures are around 35-60 degrees celcius.

He's saying that's he thinks that for medium-ish graphic settings the 970 is not performing good

your monitor is probably 60hz which means it refreshes a max amount 60 times per second so there is no difference between 1000fps and 60fps

Its not about that mate, u don't undrestand. When you buy GPU 400 EUR, CPU 200 EUR and you get 150 FPS.

I got 200 FPS with GTX 460, I5 350. I might just use my old roll of dust. No... i want this PC to be fixed.

What resolution do you run on, and whats your monitor refresh rate?

I use 1980x1086 or whatever is the standard rate. In GTA V and H1Z1

 

In CS:GO i use 1280x1024

All the drivers are downloaded from GeForce experiance and updated.

When my FPS goes from 200 to 60 i can feel it so hard, even when i disable my FPS i know im having big lags, and i enable my FPS to see its under 60. I have a 60Hz monitor, and i feel it when my FPS goes under 60 and its very unpleasnt. 

60hz is 60hz, you won't feel 200 fps if the monitor is refreshing 60 times a second thus anything over 60hz in this case is irrelevant to actual performance. If you really want to fix your problem, get a Gsync monitor.

it doesn't have to be 4k, you're complaining about csgo having 150fps which is completelly irrelevent and then GTA 5 on ultra, that sounds about right for where is should be. h1z1 is alpha so you're expecting too much for a game that early in development. Csgo has a lot more problems than not showing you 200fps.

That is not frame rate wise, the difference there is completely overturned by how it will appear on your monitor, but 150-200fps will show no difference precision of your mouse.

I will accept all that as you do not have a problem. Let us start with the basics. CSGO is capped at 200 so there is problem 1 second GTA V is horibbly optimized and no single card can run it 60+FPS all the time as it dips low in parts of them map and another thing to consider is GTA V is a Vram hog and with that last .5 being slower you may be bumping up against 4gbs. H1Z1 is an indie game so don't expect it to be optimized either. In the end everything is fine and I will take those skins please hehe

Forget about using games for testing, use some actual graphics benchmarks to test if your graphics card is really performing as it should be.

 

There are benchmarks available like Cinebench and FurMark that will give you a good indication of your real frames-per-second performance.

It seems to me that the OP likely bought parts on some one's recommendation (or multiple people, such as a thread) and that person used beautiful adjectives to describe how well the computer will perform. I suspect he went this route because he is not technically savvy and doesn't know much about computer specifications. This very likely inflated his expectations well beyond what a GTX 970 can do even with a high-end CPU.

It also looks like multiple people in this thread are indicating that nothing is wrong with the computer. And I would agree.

OP should forget about what a *previous* computer was capable of and reevaluate his expectations of his current hardware.

I get 250-300 fps with my 970 on the highest settings at 1080p in CS:GO. I did a quick test and got 150-200 fps when I turned off multicore rendering so that might be your problem.

 

A lot of people in this thread are being an asshole to him rather than try to help.

Thanks, they are trying to be funny or are just really dumb, i think is you have 30 - 45 fps in h1z1 it isnt normal. Even when i switch from medium to ultra the fps doesnt change.

No, thats not it. I bought it because alot of my friends have that card or even worse, and all of them are running games more smoother then i am, far more smoother. So i am 100% something is wrong.

I'm pretty sure paying for a solution is NOT allowed, but don't quote me on that.

 

Everything you posted seems perfectly normal, cpu and gpu temps and a clean windows install.

 

If you have the lastest drivers, this is most probably the performance you should be expecting from your card.. check if the NVidia Control Panel doesn't have any unexpected graphic settings for your game (extra AA or whatever) 

 

IF the fps is not comparable to other systems running the same hardware, it's probably some software/setting variable and not a hardware one.. your card is running at it's maximum in the stress test and not facing any thermal issues.

The issue fixed itself, i now have 350 fps: Settings are FXAA Enabled, MSAA 8X, Anisotropic 16X, Multicore rendering Enabled.

Texture: Medium.

 

My FPS now is 350-500, so anyone who said csgo is capped at 200. You were very wrong.

Congratulations on having a frame rate that your monitor likely can't reproduce. What is your monitor's model number?

Did a quick Google search and got this explanation:

 

"If you have a 60hz monitor and have 60 fps then the frame you are seeing is at least 16 ms old, then you can add on other lag along the way like the monitor's response time and pixel switching. In the end could mean what you are seeing on the screen was likely generated 25ms ago. This is assuming v-sync is off which I believe can cause delays to be about twice as long.

 

Monitors don't just ignore extra frames they receives but rather they show the lastest one, or partial one. If you are getting 120fps and your monitor is 60hz then the frame you are seeing on the screen is the latest one that was created and you have just cut the delay from 16ms to 8ms. That pulls your total delay in frame display from 25 to 17ms, add monitor with 2ms response time then you are at closer to 10ms, now get your fps to 500 and you get to 4ms. So you have just reduced the delay on your screen from like 25ms to 4ms."

 

Think it's pretty much saying higher refresh rates are good for monitors that aren't synced so that the latest frame can be as close as possible to the monitors refresh. I don't know too much on how monitor refresh works so can't verify, though it should be pretty easy to test it out in CS:GO by limiting your FPS in a match against bots and then taking off said limit.
