They're not really bad, but they use lower quality components than should be warranted at that price point. Myself and @STRMfrmXMN have the EVGA GS550W 80+ Gold unit and they're absolutely solid.

RMi is good tho full japanese capacitor and stuff like that i'm having one it is working very well for me but for the price point there are a lot more options. MY country currency drop drastically which makes everything rises in price other than corsair products as they kinda have old stock and stuff.

read from johhnyguru that page have good reviews and very deep and good test for it rmi has a 9.7 score tho. the rm without i is not recommended obviously.

Thats not true anymore. They use better components since their second batch.

If you want something realy good, you have to buy a RMi. Its more expensive tho.

I've heard a lot about how the Corsair RM series is really bad. Is that true? If so, also what are some other high quality, silent, 550w, 80+ gold psus?

I'd recommend the EVGA GS like @TheSLSAMG did. We both own one and it's great. The RM isn't horrible but it's hard to justify buying it at the price it's listed at when you can get the EVGA B2/GS/G2 units for the same or better prices.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
