Okay so this is my first build. The easiest method  will be to post a link at the build I'm considering. Some of the things on here I've already purchased, an or are from my old setup. Any assistance will be amazing. I've been watching youtube videos and I'm not sure how all of this is going to work but I'm hoping it does.

I haven't included that I'm thinking I may need more airflow with the build as I've already bought an received the tower (Enthoo primo)

Literally any advice will help. Thank you!

Opt for a 980 Ti and use a different board.

EDIT: Also, don't use Toshiba for your HDD. It's terribly unbalanced for that rig. Why do you need an i7?

Intel Core i7-6700K | Corsair H105 | Asus Z170I PRO GAMING | G.Skill TridentZ Series 16GB | 950 PRO 512GB M.2

Asus GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB STRIX OC | BitFenix Prodigy (Black/Red) | XFX PRO Black Edition 850W

What are your planned uses for this build? This seems like a bit of a waste of money.

What is the benefit of going for the Ti? Would I still bridge it with the current 970?

As for why the i7 I can afford it an it's an upgrade from my current comp.

As of right this second I'm running with:

Intel i5-3570k 3.4ghz on a horrible board. with 8g dd3 an the toshiba.

If I were to get the toshiba for the new build I'd only use it for storage and run the SSD with OS.

p.s. I love the msi x99 series an am looking for a board with amazing wifi so thats why i went with it.

Mainly for gaming between Wow,CS,LOL,FFXIV, an a list of random other things.

Other than that I stream and occasionally have some rendering that kills my current pc.

  1. Get a 980 Ti. It is more power efficient, less heat output and more VRAM (which will give you better frames in games when using a 1440p or higher display) compared to 970s in SLI. It wont SLI with a 970 but you can a 2nd 980 Ti in the future.
  2. You are spending way too much on your motherboard. Get a cheaper one then upgrade your CPU to a 5960X.
  3. If you can get 64GB of RAM.

Okay so a 980 Ti run with my 970 since I can't SLI.

What would be a better Mobo option then?

How about this setup? It also matches better with your case  :) I suggest selling your 970 because you will more VRAM to drive triple 144Hz 1080p monitors in games.

That is totally overkill. Stick to Z97. A single 980 could power through streaming those games.

Looking through this one It's not a bad build either. Though the price isn't much of a change. though now i'm just considering changing those and getting the origonal mobo(Guess I'm kinda stuck on it?) I know this will all be overkill. An I was thinking about selling the 970 but I don't think I can return it now an finding a buyer for it is probably going to be harder than it was buying it.
