Get a Intel i5 or go AMD a i3 and Pentium is not worth it over FX-6300 and 860K... (2nd gen is fine keep it until 7th gen and Zen arive!)

well that would still REALLY depend on a lot of factors, and yeah, you can get a bad-ass board for it for like $200 so at about $420 you are still under what it costs for the highest end i5 or i7 although obviously THOSE would easily out perform it if you get the correct versions of course. But this is far off topic lol either way if you want the best of the best you need an intel

Your also forgetting that FX 9590 are well known to be unstable.

I'd bet money that the FX-9590 would out perform the i5-2400 any day, and its about $220 US

The FX-9 series is retarded, requires ridiculous PSUs and expensive motherboards, also generates way too much heat, if going for AMD at all, only the 8320/8350/8370 and their E versions are worth considering, But then again, if he can afford an i7, get the i7, even the older ones such as 2600k/2700k or even 3770k and you're good to go with your LGA1155 motherboard, no need to change it

Well that's pretty sad... Although if he wants to decrease his performance just to get a newer mobo, I'd wait a few days for Skylake i3s and lower i5s to be released...

Are u having any issues with it? Is it not performing in some way or maxing out in gaming ?
