Why would you get that conclusion? In addition, Quadro cards can support SLI. For example, the M6000 has two SLI fingers.

No.

You don't need to have SLI or CrossFire for dual, tri or quad GPUs.

He asked if it would require a dual CPU motherboard.

Are you considering a Quadro for gaming? it just needs to be asked.

I did say not,

I also said you don't need SLI or crossfire.

You said that it would not require a board that supports multiple GPUs - the user asked if it would require a dual CPU motherboard.

No. Only games use sli, rendering programs don't need it. Either way, there's no reason you'd need more than one cpu to run any number of gpus unless you ran out of pcie lanes - which won't happen on a regular motherboard.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

I'm using the Asus D8 WS motherboard with two Xeon processors. If I use multiple Quadros which card will i connect my monitor to and is an SLI bridge required.

(I use this pc for encoding and rendering,no games)

Thanks for confirming your use for a Quadro, you would be surprised how many ask similar questions and consider gaming with one.

Either card would be fine. An SLI bridge is not required in that scenario - the cards would be their own entity and act separately.

Thanks. BTW, if i'm using 4 titan x on my gaming pc is it better to use SLI or not?

It would be a waste to use 4 Titan X's. The scaling would be dreadful on anything above 2 way SLI.

edit: scratch that I saw the "if" which basically changes the statement altogether

I'm not lying.I'm just planning to build the ultimate pc...

It's a waste of money to buy 4 Titan X's. The way SLI scales is this: One card - 100%. Two cards - 75% gain. Three cards - 50% gain. Four cards - 25% gain.

ohhhh so what about 4 titan x without SLI and suggestions to improve this...

Then in games, one Titan X would be used.

Ok thx for ur help!

AFAIK you can also chose which GPU will run a specific application although the default is set to the first GPU.

So basically you can set different GPU's for games and applications(DA:I uses first Titan, Skyrim will use 3rd Titan etc etc) which in theory will help in card longevity

It's not worth spending $4000 on a set of GPUs or even $2000. In addition, @dexd_fish69, you're better off with 980 Ti's.

Won't a titan x or two help in a system which i game on, do video editing, media encoding, 3D rendering as well as connect it to three 144hz 27' 4K displays?

I'm not suggesting that he should buy 4 titan x's just to game.

I'm assuming he has his own reasons why he's buying 4 titan x's and not using SLI. I'm merely saying some cool stuff he could do with separate gpu's

You're talking about two different builds here now. You only mentioned this build was for gaming - nothing else.
