If you want new stuff, a new 750 ti goes for about 100$ now, and that card will kill games like MC. But if you want to go for something a little less, some of those older generation AMD cards are always cheap on EBay. Good luck! I recommend putting what price you are looking for :P

so i have an old ddr2 gaming pc that doesnt run so great anymore. what is a good gpu i can get for it that will make it run pretty good for minecraft and platform games? i dont want to spend a ton of money on this pc though

How much? You could get something like a used GTX 660 or something that will be great for Minecraft :D

*self-ad time* I'm selling my GTX 285 for $25 and it can play Minecraft no problem.

 

No ad time - what is your budget and list 3 games you will play the most.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

a 2nd hand card is a good bed - check your price range on ebay and local sites.

 You could buy a used GTX 650 from ebay right now for around $50-70. I don't have any personal experience with any GPUs other than the gt330m in my sony vaio, but even that is playable for minecraft. Just please don't buy anything that says Vamery- they are fake.

What' amour budget. Also good and cheap should not be in the same sentence when we are talking about GPUs IMO.

minecraft mostly. with mods and high settings. nothing more than that

Well tbh a GTX 750 will more than work with the games that you want to play.

what about a gtx 960 or a r7 370? im looking for somthing about $160-$180
