Best PC build for gaming in a UW-QHD curved monitor (3440x1440)

I want to have a good gaming experience in an UW-QHD curved monitor, and I would like to know the best PC build (preferably up to $2000) for that.

My PC specs are:

Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor

Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

Asus X99-PRO/USB 3.1 ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard

Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory

Transcend SSD370 512GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB WINDFORCE Video Card

Corsair Vengeance C70 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case

Corsair 750W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

My biggest concern is about the video card. If anyone has good tips, please tell me!

DarkBlade2117 I`ve heard that the 390x is the same thing as the 290x. I also don`t know what would be better, NVidia or amd. And why do u think I should drop to a 4th generation processor and ddr3 memory? I`m newbie in these questions haha

randeon r9 295x2 actually has only 4gb of dedicated memory. wouldn`t a titan x be better as they have the same price?

8GB, and in tests it mostly performs better than a single Titan X -- it is also watercooled. It is your choice, though. You could get a superclocked version of the Titan X from EVGA

EDIT: Or 980 Ti's in SLI / a single 980 Ti would be nice too :D

The X99 platform is aligned more with workstations for rendering and heavy computation whereas the Z97 platform is good for overclocking and you can throw gaming in there too. In terms of bang for your buck for just a gaming rig, there is no reason to spend the extra money on X99 - you are much better off putting the cash into a better GPU.

And if you are turning your nose up at an "old" generation then look at Z170/Skylake/DDR4

According to a linus video, the r9 295x2 has two gpus, each of them with 4gb of memory. And no matter how many gpus you have, the ammount of memory will be the same. But if you are saying it performs better then a titan x, I'm going for it. Also I've seen you've got 2 980ti, what do you say about one? A thousand bucks is a gpu would probably be too much for me...

@cortexcortex

Yes, the R9 295 X2 is ADVERTISED as having 8gb memory. However, remember that it is made up of two R9 290X chips, each of which have 4GB. Just remember that until DX12 comes out (and hopefully fixes this problem), running SLI/Crossfire WILL NOT MAKE THE AMOUNT OF MEMORY ADD UP BETWEEN CARDS. The total amount of memory will be the amount of ONE card
