Which dialect of Chinese do you want to learn? Its much easier to learn and to find learning software for Mandarin as it is more widely used (depending on where you are). I've looked into it and tried to find one for my "native" language of Cantonese but there aren't really any out there unless you are willing to pay.

-EDIT-

It also depends on what you're having difficulty on. Memorizing the characters and their sound takes time LOTS OF TIME, trust me. All of it, anything in Chinese needs lots of practice. Its something that unfortunately doesn't take overnight to learn. It took me so long I gave up on it and am starting to regret it.

oh well all written Chinese is the same so it applies for mandarin and cantonese. Simplified or not like, written Chinese isn't very easy to learn so if you're finding it hard to keep up, just take your time to memorize the stuff, repetition was one of the best ways for us to learn it but don't give up. Maybe find a friend who  knows the language and can help you  with it. Learning languages is much easier when you have someone who knows it and can help correct you and stuff.
