Razer Blade 14 Backorder

I have ordered a Razer Blade 14 as my primary laptop, and was notified it was on backorder. Does anybody know approximately how long it will be before it ships? Also, does anybody know of anything comparable to the Blade's specs (besides a Macbook Pro) just in case I am forced to look for something else?

MSI GE40 and GE60 are both viable replacements. Some guys I know have waited for weeks to a month before they got theirs.

I would take a look at Clevo's 13.3 inch laptop. It's about double the thickness, but it has a 1920x1080 IPS screen compared to the atrocious screen the razer blade or the msi ge40 have.  clevo's laptops get rebranded a lot and many companies use it like digital storm and origin. here would be an example of it http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np7330-clevo-w230st-p-6163.html

I hate back orders. I wish companies would be able to estimate how many they need to produce more exactly. Look at the Chromecast, the lead time on it for 3-4 weeks.

 

I'd rather it be on back order then for them to rush production/manu and have a large batch of them with impending defects, cough...xbox 360...cough.

Anandtech had a good review of the GE40, so you may want to read through that if you're considering that one (http://www.anandtech.com/show/7144/msi-ge40-review-a-slim-gaming-notebook). Other than that, MSI's new GS70 is a great competitor for the 17" Blade Pro, but there aren't any smaller (screen size) models in the GS-series (yet?). Also the Sager NP7330 that Emperor_Piehead linked is a good other option.

 

If you have your heart set on the Blade 14, you could check other retailers to see if they have some in stock instead of trying to buy one directly from Razer..
