GPU for 1440p

already have the monitor

not gonna happen , dont wanna spend that much money on a GPU

 

I will probably go for a 390X , i don't wanna spend 150+ extra by switching over  to a 980.

 

Thats entirely up to you, but here in Denmark the difference is less than 100$. Heck some of them even 50-60$ difference.

Exactly, some places have two different products, that in performance are a long way from each other, but when it comes to pricing, they're about the same. If you can get the GTX 980 for barely any extra money, i'd choose it if I were you.

290x, 390 or GTX 970 is what I'd recommend.  My GTX 970 crushes 1440p on most of the games I throw at it, have fun!

Just an update , got a used 980 for 450€ . Palit Super Jetstream. It's literally twice as fast as my old 670 if not more !
