Someone accessing my Hotmail

Literally 10 mins ago, my phone gave me a 'bring' saying "sign-in failed into e-mail". I instantly went onto hotmail.com (outlook now) and tried to log into it, the password has been reset. I opted to put in my security question and got in. I changed the password and security question on both but was wondering, could people somehow be accessing it from my phone? Like the password or security answer?

I care because this isn't the first time in the last couple of months. I have all my cards and stuff hooked onto this e-mail.

Okay, I mean, I have Kaspersky (real license) so I'm sure it would pop-up telling me if it was but I'm scanning.

That is completely the wrong attitude. The OP started a thread with a problem, for which the answer and advice given in this thread, could potentially help other people with similar Security concerns. So I'm sure that there are few people who care

I know in gmail, you can find where the activity on your account has come from.

 

Is there something similar in Outlook/hotmail???

Maybe start a Gmail account? Though switching all the accounts over would be a pain, I recently did this.

Like the others said, run a virus/malware scan. And when you get suspicious emails, I'd suggest not even opening them, just delete them.

Well, I ran a full scan with Kaspersky and came back clean. I just think it was someone who knew my security question e.g. some people from my school. I've changed my security question and my password to something crazy :P

Glad to hear that you got back in. You've probably already checked this but for those that haven't I would recommend using HTTPS wherever possible

My hotmail account was stolen ages ago... a lot of accounts went down with it because hotmails email recovery system wont let me have it back /: oh well...
