Some just told me that they'd prefer an FX-8350 over an i5-4790K, because it gives the user more "control" 

 

PS: I know that these people have now idea what they're talking about because they don't even refer to a CPU by it's model, they just say AMD or Intel.

They are just generalising AMD and Intel,

but its kinda true that amd gives people more options  than intel or nvidia

(Instead we have to pay 50$ more for the k part and cant sli a 680 with a 770 etc.)
