Low Performance, not sure why.

Go to solution Solved by Ryoku,

Ill start off with my specs

i7-4790k@4.0ghz stock speeds

H110i GTX AIO Liquid cooler on CPU

Asus Maximus Vii Hero

16GB ddr3 1600

GTX 980ti SC+

850w gold EVGA PSU

Windows 10 Home

Now my problem. I've been playing Diablo 3 mostly lately and i seem to get frame drops in big fight while others with about the same specs don't. I've noticed the CPU doesnt go over 50% utilization and hardly goes above 55c so im thinking the issues lies with it. On games like Guild Wars 2 i also feel the performance is lack luster even thought its 80+ FPS. Also ive been playing these games at 1080p 120hz, with V-sync on.

I've included some screenshots, the CPUID HWMonitor are the min/maxes from about 60mins of Diablo 3. Thanks for your time and if you need any more info let me know, ill try my best to get it.

Edit: I guess i should add the Bios are updated aswell as the GPU drivers. I'm not sure if there are CPU drivers and if so that they are updated.

What are your sound options set to in diablo 3? I had mad stuttering issue and when I changed one of the sound options It fixed it all, weirdest thing I highlighted what i changed In this SS below so give that a try.

5.1 probably won't matter but try low. you won't notice any sound quality difference.

So far it seems to have helped, i havent run into enough scenarios to test for sure.

I guess i should also mention this is only happens in full groups in endgame with the endgame sets and skill spam. Up til then i was buttery smooth.

Yea that's the same thing that happened to me, your still going to get the occasional frame drop. seems to be when you get near the end of a rift or a pylon appears near by it will frame drop for some reason.  Also some poorly optimized areas are in specific maps.

I'm still getting frame drops to around 55-60 from the average 90-130 just in large groups of mobs with 3 other players all spamming skills. The choppiness/Stuttering that it used to do when dropping seems to be gone or reduced greatly tho.
