Can a non-game application take advantage of all available ram in an SLI configuration?

for instance, if i were to get two 4gb cards, and i were to then use photoshop or render video, or other programs like such, could it take advantage of all 8GB or would it be limited to 4?

I don't know but for video editing and photo shop i don't think that memory is that big of an issue (i think its more about the GPU itself) But still curious to know.

I don't believe the Adobe applications support SLI. What happens to one card happens to the other. You actually have 4GB of GDDR5 graphics memory. The application being used will use all VRAM that is necessary on one card and it all will be duplicated to the other.

This is what I thought. I wasn't sure if the rules were different for such applications compared to gaming uses.
