witcher 3 hard crashes?

Occasionally my game just freezes and I cannot do anything on my PC except for hold the power button to restart it. I do not have this problem in any other games.

CPU: i7 8700 GPU: Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080 Mobo: Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 5 Ram: 16GB EVGA SuperSC SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB PSU: TX650M Case: NZXT S340 Elite OS: Windows 10 Mouse: Logitech G403 Mouse Mat: HyperX Fury S Pro XL 
Keyboard: CM Masterkeys Pro S (reds) Headphones: Sennheiser HD598 Monitor: Asus 24' MG248QR Devices: IPhone 11 Pro Max + 13' Macbook Pro

what's your CPU core clock at, you might have to up the voltage. 

CPU: i5-4690k GPU: 280x Toxic PSU: Coolermaster V750 Motherboard: Z97X-SOC RAM: Ripjaws 1x8 1600mhz Case: Corsair 750D HDD: WD Blue 1TB

what's your CPU core clock at, you might have to up the voltage. 

it's stock, the cpu isnt overclocked

Have you tried CTRL-ALT-DEL when it freezes?

oh god man I really don't know. I'd monitor GPU/CPU/RAM usage whilst playing the game to see if something spikes. 

 

On a side note, try playing the game in windowed mode.

I am playing in windowed mode when it happpens ;(
