Yes, it's possible. What resolution is said monitor, though?

Just set the resolution to 1920x1080 in Windows?

So it's 1680x 1050p and I want to record 1080p of course

Also I can't set actual screen resolution to 1080p

Dammit.

Uh... I guess you're stuck at like 1600x900 or 720p for recording then.
