reputable CPU sources

Go to solution Solved by Deagon,

not many places sell new lga1155 cpus anymore since its a "dead socket" to manufacturers. Even if they did it would be expensive or over priced

That's pretty much what I figured. I can't really bother to wait though, so if i can get a used i7 on lga1155 cheap from an auction site or something i'll be fine with that. thanks!

Aside from the obvious, amazon and newegg, are there any other reputable sites i can purchase cpu's?
Anyone have anything to say about this place? http://www.cpumedics.com/
I'm gonna get this CPU for the board i have for a decent little mid-line gaming rig
http://www.cpumedics.com/bx80637i53570k.html?cmp=googleproducts&kw=bx80637i53570k?150823&gclid=CjwKEAjwjYCvBRC99sSm_frioAwSJACrKuPC_RnGY4PB0AVz4f6Fb5XB6N-b1TtJ2x2HL17WOZBHXxoCmGfw_wcB#itemdesc

But wasn't sure if this was a safe place to purchase from or if i should just stick with the standard, i'm trying to save as much on everything i can as this will be an interim PC while I build a monster slowly enough to afford it lol

I'd get a 4690k from Amazon or Newegg.  It's cheaper than that cpu.  I don't trust anywhere else.

Just stick with Amazon, ncix, newegg or if you live near a microcenter there isn't a reason to buy anywhere else.

Amazon basically becomes the best service if you have prime (which you can easily share between whole families anyways so you should.)

But its often not the cheapest.

Yessir I am. Is 230 USD for a i5-3570K really that expensive?

Yes.

You can get better cpu's for an equal or lower price.

Sorry, replied before i saw the others. I have a motherboard with the LGA 1155 socket that I've had for a bit so I'm limited to CPU's that work on that socket. I have enough stuff to run it if i get a CPU and RAM the ram i'm getting is about $110 which is fine with me, but I'm limited to currently about $320 for the CPU and ram. I need something that will be a nice little contender but won't cost me $600. I settled on getting the best i5 on the LGA 1155 socket the i5-3570k. because i can get one from most place for about $200 the one i was set to purchase was swooped up before i could grab it (from ebay, worrying place though)

I don't really believe that $230 for the i5-3570k LGA1155 socket CPU is "really expensive" as the average price for this cpu everywhere I've looked, is about $200-$300. But I could be wrong, anyone care to link me somewhere? even intel lists it around that price here http://ark.intel.com/products/65520/Intel-Core-i5-3570K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_80-GHz

well I would and all... but my socket is an LGA 1155 not an LGA 1150 and i don't have cash for a new motherboard.

the only other CPU I would seriously consider for this motherboard would be the i7-3770K unless there is an LGA 1155 socket CPU  in the same performance category as this or the  i5-3570k for a significant price difference
