I just picked up a MSI 960 2GB version and im super happy about it! The MSI Twin Frozr is amazing and the GPU runs at 60 C Max during load. Also is super silent while keeping this temp.

R9 380 is better ...

It also cost $30 more and he said he wants the 960 because of its price.

Depends where you live. The r9 380 is € 20 cheaper than the 960 in stores I buy my hardware, both 2GB and 4GB versions.

All have their own pros and cons, I like GIGABYTE best, followed by MSI.

For the rest, still fine but I prefer these 2.

Okay here is guide to help you:

Is the r9 280 around the same price?

If yes get it a r9 280 the extra vRam will help, preferably from gigabyte and sapphire.

If not, then is the r9 380 around the same price?

If yes get a r9 380 it outperforms marginally, preferably from likes of MSI and sapphire

If not as well get a 960 from the likes of EVGA, gigabyte and MSI.

I have made my mind up on which type already, and i'm definitely going for the 960 but I'm having trouble deciding between the likes of EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI etc. also is there any real difference between 2 & 4 gb? I will only really be using it for casual gaming.
