What is the general census of a PC in an XBOX 360 shell?

All ready bought some parts for this mod.

Making up an HTPC to run Plex.

specs:

AMD Athlon x4 645

Asus M5a78L-M

4 x 2GB Generic DDR3 1333mzh Ram

Asus Xonar STX Sound card

Adata SP800 32GB SSD

200w Micro PSU running off of a 12v adapter http://images.trademe.co.nz/photoserver/20/150796820_full.jpg

White Xbox360 (the original phat ones) http://tinyurl.com/ll9x6wf

Standard DVD Drive (POSSIBLY*** a Blu Ray Drive)

Will try to;

Wire up the existing Front USB 2.0 plugs for use

Wire up the front on switch and make the 4 green LED's show on the ring.

Keep things as tidy as possible ;)

Keep the case stock. No window, no nuthin' want to make it look like a stock Xbox 360 externally

Will probably commence the project in about a month once I complete my Desk Project :)

Yup, The old white ones ;)

To be honest, I haven't really seen a nice TIDY PC xbox 360 mod. And not one using a Micro Pico PSU so they have a huge bundle of cables coming out the back, or having a PSU next to the rig. Where is the portability of something like that?

Cables will be custom length so that everything is tidy under the hood, maybe I should put a window on it..

Having read the whole post (oops!) that PSU idea looks really cool. My worry would be if it can supply 'clean' power to the components, I'm not sure how good the external brick adaptors areat doing this.

Looking forward to it!

It might not be SUPER clean, but at the end of the day there will be hardly any load on the machine at all so don't think I will face any problems :)

It would be good to have identical, functional Xbox 360 right next to it when it's finished. Then let friends/visitors/forum users/whatever guess which one is the right one. :D

Anyway. I like the idea. Good luck with that! :)

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

Oh yeah this has certainly been done before but a perfect and tidy one? That! I have not seen

will you build a custom housing for the PSU?

as in removing the PSU case and build a more friendly shaped case to fit in the xbox?
