My phone is really crap and there is no official OS update for it and its stuck on Android 2.2. I was wondering if somehow I was able to get a copy of the phones kernel or something if I would be able to mod a version of Android and get it to work on this phone.

PS: My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Q. ( So slow )

ROMs the only way to go if there are no updates available... kinda stinks but it should justify my burning desire for the Nexus S4 :D

My phone could only get up to ICS 4.0.4 on OTA updates. But after that no more updates. So i rooted my phone, installed 4.2.2 minimal lagg, enjoying it.

EDIT: Looks like Samsung Galaxy Q isnt listed on xda develoeprs ;|.
