Graphics Card support on OEM Motherboard?

Olivernundrum

So long as there is proper ventilation in the case it should in theory be fine.

Hello there

I have wanted to up the graphics performance of a system I acquired some time back.

The computer is a Dell Vostro 460 with 16 Gb of ram, 128 GB SSD, 1 TB HDD, and a Intel Core i7 2600.

My question is:

Is it possible to add a current graphics card to this system, I’m personally thinking a R9 380 as I would only want to game in 1080p.

Power consumption is also not a worry for me, as I have a spare 280-Watt power supply I plan to run the graphics card of.

Even though it might be a good idea in the future, I do not have space in my budget to go out an buy a new motherboard at the monent.

Thanks in advance

Dual PSU configs don't work out well.

If you can swap the current psu of the dell system with a higher watt ATX psu thats the way to go!

Okay, that might be a good idea, but is it totaly okay to be running a current graphics card in a system that was never desinged to do so?

(Thanks for the quick reply BTW)
