So if I am getting the Fractal Define R5, I'm thinking that I'll mount the radiator at the front of the case because I really hate the way it looks without the top moduvents and also it would make more noise. What are the differences of mounting your rad at the front instead of the top?

Essentially there is zero noticeable difference to the performance of your loop. The one thing that will make a difference though is the R5 only has mounting points up to a 280mm rad on the front - unless you ghetto mod it of course. So you can natively use much larger radiators along the top of the case.

Well I'm getting the Kraken X61 or the Corsair H110i GTX, which are both 280mm rads so I should be fine

Front will be quieter in the r5 then you can leave moduvents closed, but, it will increase air cooled GPU temps, but only by about 5 degrees
