another question - does VDDC in GPU-Z refer to the voltage coming out of the VRMs?

1- PSU no supplying enough or stable power.

2- dieing memory.

SeaSonic PSU - +12V rail in GPU-Z is between 12.13 and 12.25

How would you be able to sell an atrifacting gpu?

Currently only minor artifacting in 2-3 games so I guess I'm trying to save myself

There are different types of artifacts.

Question - if the PSU was the cause wouldnt I get freezes/hangs/crahses?

Artifacting isnt something that just happens, it either means that the card is at the end of its life, or you have an unstable overclock.

Nothing about amd cards makes them artifact more or less than nvidia card...

No OCs - stock clocks. Was fine for 4 months then this.

I'm broke and a 370 is slower than a 950 and the 270x is old and could result in a similar issue since I have no idea how long my card's spent in storage somewhere.

Usually yes but your PSU isn't the problem since it is a very decent one, have you tried another GPU to see if the artifacting still occurs? Do you have the latest drivers?

A card sitting in storage should not make it more likely to artifact. Your card might have just been an off batch or something, making it act up...

I hope so - artifacting started about a month after I changed the PSU from the TT one I had before but I've not had system instability and the voltage readings for +12V are fine from GPU-Z VDDC, howerver, reads spikes to 1.442V when it should max out at 1.1V

I guess :/

What are the artifacts like? white dots like snow or textures with spike shape appearing randomly?

Black figures flashing in Chivalry - flickering in Crysis - once in Firefox my whole screen was in black lines.

that is just total non-sense. You could have either with both of them just as much. Just like my 770 arifacts on absurdly high memory speeds and my friends AMD -GPU system couldn't play GTA becuase of the frequent crashes.

I want to say by no means that therefore your myth is annihilated I just have nothing else to point out how just ...

Black figures flashing in Chivalry

you mean untextured areas or black textured areas. My friends problem in GTA that looked like that was solved by a driver update and going from DX11 down to DX10.1 if I recall correctly.

flickering in Crysis

What kind of flickering. Completely Black frames in betwenn normal frames. or huge black atifacts flahsing randomly in different frames? Be more specific. it is hard to describe... in know. but try.

once in Firefox my whole screen was in black lines.

Idk honestly but since my firefox turns white after installing a new driver(if id had benn running while instal and restart happening) it could be a GPU hard or software problem... just some very suspicious stuff you got there.

Well - in Chivalry I just get black figures - squares, rectangles, triangles flash in different parts of the screen - most of them are only there 1 frame and gone the next.

In Crysis 2 I have parts of the game flicker - usually distant objects filcker - not very large but noticeable - say a few stacked boxes some distance away will start flickering and stop when I come close.

In LoL, I just remembered, I've had 2 instances of corrupted frames - 1 is fine and the next has colored bars over it, then the one after is fine again.

In Hearthstone I just had an instance where when I won a bunch of green lines appeared in every which way - thin ones but easily noticeable.

In firefox - I've had a teal line appear across twitter - once I scrolled past it it vanished - the black lines I meantioned before appeared out of nowehere, covered the whole screen, and disappeared as soon as I scrolled a bit - I also regularly have the adress bar/tabs become completely grey and/or videos on YT being played in a small window when I've set them to expand and the expanded area is just black - when I click the button again it fixes it.

Chivalry problem sounds exactly like the artifacts I get from to much memory OC random "tilted-looking" triangles covering various parts of the screen and appearing randomly. Try reducing your clock for the memory (e.g. try using MSI afterburner) if it helps then it is your GPU for sure but what exactly...? -Memory build quality :/ ??

firefox seems to be just a visual software bug (could also be more though)

I don't know about the rest. Might just some other way of your grafic cards memory showing of its disability. Idk

I had things, like you described in League of Legends, after system startup. BUT my system completely froze and the coloured framed stayed on screen until hard shut down (this is definitly and OC on my side).
