hi all, I'm looking to build my first gaming pc. I have a budget of around £1000 for the completed system (including monitor, os)

I mainly play an older RPGMMO but I'd also like to play some of the newer games at 1080p around 50-60 frame rate. on mid to high settings

could you guys look at my components selection and give tips / advice. I do plan to OC the CPU

my main concern is my psu won't have the cable for the graphics card I believe mine takes an 8port. the psu says it has 6+2 port ( is this suitable for an 8 port)

Unless if you need the better unlocked CPU, youd be better off just getting an i5-4460 and a H97 board and get a slightly better GPU.

Otherwise if you really want the CPU unlocked and to be able to OC, then definately get a more stable PSU like an EVGA 500W or 600W

hi magnesium your build is a little too expensive as it doesn't include an OS or monitor unfortunately my budget is pretty tight.

hi nonco thanks for the advice - ideally I did want to overclock but do you think I'll get better performance from a none OC CPU but a better graphics card?

I forgot to mention in the future once I have a little bit of spare cash I'll most likely get a second monitor
